So i'm realizing now that Map My Ride is great for thinking about and communicating routes but really bad at estimating altitude differences.
We had a fantastic twofer this weekend based around some sound principles:
1) Wake n Bike
2) eat light, but eat at good intervals
3) warm up before climbing
4) ride easy, the hills will make it hard when you hit em.

Saturday's Route
Beautiful and easy till that one hill

Check out the elevation profile on this one...looks gentle...the hill on bluff is constant and serious

I want to do that big hill again because I haven't been that proud in a long time as when i finished it, but at the same time, I have a real fear of not being able to conquer it again.
